PSHE education at Trinity Academy St Chad’s is a subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves safe, healthy and prepared for future life. Our PSHE curriculum enables our children to become independent and responsible members of society, understand how they are developing personally and socially, and tackles many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up.
Pupils are provided with opportunities to learn about rights and responsibilities and to appreciate what it means to be a happy, confident and resilient member of a diverse society. Pupils at Trinity Academy St Chad’s are encouraged to develop their self-worth and self-confidence by playing a positive role in contributing to school life and the wider community.
With the new Relationships and Sex Education statutory requirements in place at Trinity Academy St Chad’s, we believe that RSE is the lifelong learning about moral and emotional development. It provides the opportunity to teach pupils the fundamental building blocks and characteristics, including healthy relationships and friendships, online safety, sexuality and sexual health, and positive emotional and mental well-being, all taught at an age-appropriate level.
